Notes

'Joyful Beginning' peony (Paeonia 'Joyful Beginning') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Light apricot blush blooms are semi-double and strongly fragrant. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The upright stems reach 28 to 30 inches and need no support.

Pairs well with Hosta, Eastern columbine, Charles Joly lilac, and Western sword fern.
