Notes

'Joyful Compassion' peony (Paeonia 'Joyful Compassion') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Pink semi-double blooms with a sweet fragrance open in early spring on upright stems that need no support. Roger F. Anderson bred it.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Bobo hydrangea, Queen of Night tulip, and Polish Spirit clematis.
