Notes

'Joyful Frills' peony (Paeonia 'Joyful Frills') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant yellow semi-double blooms have ruffled petals with light pink flares, and bees and butterflies visit them. The upright plants reach 28 inches and need no support. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
