Notes

'June Day' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'June Day') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double blooms are light old-rose-pink with white outer petals and a sweet, mild scent. Plants are vigorous and free-flowering, with good stems for cutting. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Lungwort, and Bells of Ireland.
