Notes

'Kara-ori-nishiki' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Kara-ori-nishiki') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type blooms are large and pink with lilac-pink stripes. They open in midseason with a conspicuous white disk. The plant is large and spreading, so give it room.

Pairs well with Liberty hosta, Prairie dropseed, Christmas fern, and Star Gazer lily.
