Notes

'Kardinal' spotted beebalm (Monarda 'Kardinal') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant blooms draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows 35 to 47 inches tall, so place it toward the back of a bed.

Pairs well with Pink Double Delight coneflower, Gold Plate fern-leaf yarrow, and Blue Paradise garden phlox.
