Notes

'Katharine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Katharine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The white double flowers are fragrant and have strong stems that hold them up well. They open in early summer over dark green foliage. David Reath bred it, and it first bloomed in 1979.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Arizona Sun blanket flower, and Sensitive fern.
