Notes

'Katherine Havemeyer' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Katherine Havemeyer') is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, borders, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring with fragrant flowers that draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Hardy geranium, Clematis, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
