Notes

'King’s Crown' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'King’s Crown') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large flowers have a Japanese form with dull red petals. The center is topped with cream petaloides, which gives each bloom a two-tone look.

Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Mexican hat, Indian grass, and Grape hyacinth.
