Notes

Kintei peony (Paeonia 'Kintei (see L’Esperance)') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It blooms from early to late spring and attracts butterflies. Wada bred it in 1939. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Big bluestem, Greig's tulip, and Jackmanii clematis.
