Notes

'Kodiak Black' mountain bush honeysuckle (Diervilla rivularis 'Kodiak Black') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to average soil of most types. Yellow flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 36 to 48 inches tall and wide, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Japanese forest grass, Sum and Substance hosta, and Autumn fern.
