Notes

'Konronkoku' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Konronkoku') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen and tolerates salt. Bees and birds visit the blooms in winter and spring.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Jack in the pulpit, and Japanese maple.
