Notes

'A. Krekler' peony (Paeonia 'A. Krekler') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double flowers are a deep, glossy black-red with twisty petals and a sweet scent. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The bush is dense and medium sized.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Nodding onion, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Polish Spirit clematis.
