Notes

'La Brune' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'La Brune') is an upright perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its flowers are red and double, so they make a bold show in the garden. You can cut the blooms and bring them indoors for bouquets. Philippe-Victor Verdier bred this cultivar.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Prairie dropseed, and Black Hero tulip.
