Notes
'A la Mode' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'A la Mode') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large white flowers have yellow stamens and a sweet fragrance. Strong stems hold the blooms upright in early to late spring. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and it has four buds per stem.
Pairs well with Dutchman's breeches, Ostrich fern, and Pussytoes.
