Notes

'Ladybird' peony (Paeonia 'Ladybird') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its bright tomato-red cups open early and smell sweet. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1949.

Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Pink Impression tulip, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Polish Spirit clematis.
