Notes

'Lamartine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Lamartine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Victor Lemoine bred it. Its fragrant, ball-like blooms open in late spring in dark old-rose pink with pale borders on each petal. The plant produces many flowers, so you may want to stake the tall stems.

Pairs well with Matrona october daphne, Aromatic aster, and Spanish bluebell.
