Notes
Lanceleaf blanketflower (Gaillardia aestivalis) is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, meadows, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Yellow flowers with brown or dark-purple centers draw butterflies and bees. Deadheading and pinching back keep it blooming until frost. The plants are tall and slender, so grow them in a mass planting.
Pairs well with Blue-eyed grass, Gaura, and Japanese forest grass.
