Notes

'Lane Roberts' sweet gum (Liquidambar styraciflua 'Lane Roberts') is a tree for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid pace and forms a pyramidal shape. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The tree is fragrant and drought tolerant, and bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Black gum, Big bluestem, and Blueberry.
