Notes

Late lilac (Syringa villosa) is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Fragrant rose-lilac to white flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies. It grows 6 to 10 feet tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Shirley Temple peony, and Black Hero tulip.
