Notes

'Leto' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Leto') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The tall plants bear Japanese type flowers in early summer. White outer petals surround a large center of light yellow staminodes that fade to white. Dr. John H. Neeley bred it.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Royal fern, and Dalmatian bellflower.
