Notes

'Lieyanchuxin' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Lieyanchuxin') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant double flowers open in late spring in a strong purplish-red. The upright plant needs no support. The tightly packed center petals rise like a spouting flame, which gave the plant its name.

Pairs well with Blue star, Blue-eyed grass, and Bottlebrush buckeye.
