Notes

'Little Joe' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Little Joe') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double blooms are flat and purple-red with an open center. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1977.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Prairie dropseed, Picture tulip, and Star Gazer lily.
