Notes

'Little John' peony (Paeonia 'Little John') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. This dwarf stays about 14 inches tall and bears fragrant, single red flowers that attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Stargazer lily, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
