Notes

Loosestrife (Lysimachia punctata) is a perennial for borders, rain gardens, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall with an erect habit and bright yellow blooms. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers. Give it room, since the clump can spread.

Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Ostrich fern, Big bluestem, and Chokeberry.

Central Europe and Asia Minor.
