Notes
Fringed loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. It grows 1 to 3 feet tall and forms large masses of pale-green, lance-shaped leaves. Five-petaled yellow flowers open on stalks in summer, and bees and birds visit them. It tolerates seasonal flooding, so it suits a wet spot.
Pairs well with Bee balm, Yarrow, and Royal fern.
