Notes

'Louie B. Gaker' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Louie B. Gaker') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The deep red Japanese type flowers have extra wide center petaloids with saw-toothed white ends. White stripes run down the back of these petaloids. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, Blonde Ambition blue grama, Carlton daffodil, and Sensitive fern.
