Notes
'Luella' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Luella') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Sir Peter Smithers bred it. The single mauve blooms have lighter edges and dark purple flares. They open in mid to late spring and early summer on strong stems.
Pairs well with Wild ginger, Toad lily, and Queen of Night tulip.
