Notes

'Madame Barillet Deschamps' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Barillet Deschamps') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, fragrant, light pink blooms open in early to mid spring and fade to a delicate silver pink in the sun. Jacques Calot bred it in 1868. The strong stems carry buds in clusters.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Dalmatian bellflower, and Switchgrass.
