Notes

'Madame Bigot' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Bigot') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant crimson-pink blooms with silvery edges open in early summer on a compact plant. Auguste Dessert bred it in 1893, and its buds tend to blight, so give it good air flow.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Dalmatian bellflower, and Switchgrass.
