Notes

'Madame de Vatry' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Madame de Vatry') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Modeste Guérin bred it in 1852. Fragrant light pink flowers open in early summer, with lilac shading, white outer petals, and a darker center.

Pairs well with Damask rose, Blue grama, and Evening primrose.
