Notes

'Madame Emile Lemoine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Emile Lemoine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double blooms open with crimson streaks and fade to creamy white in mid to late spring. They are mildly fragrant and have a crown-like center of compact petals. Strong stems hold the tall plant upright, but it can get disease, so give it good air flow.

Pairs well with Carlton daffodil, Sensitive fern, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
