Notes

'Madame Marcel Gay' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Marcel Gay') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears cup-shaped, deep pink to red blooms with lilac highlights and butter-yellow edges in early summer. The flowers can reach 22 cm across, and the stems are strong. Michel Rivière bred it.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Sedge, and Black Hero tulip.
