Notes

'Madonna' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madonna') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, semi-double flowers have long petals in cream to pink. They are fragrant, so they make a nice cut flower for a vase. Dr. John H. Neeley bred it.

Pairs well with Iris, Sum and Substance hosta, Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, and Western sword fern.
