Notes
'Magic Carpet' mother of thyme (Thymus serpyllum 'Magic Carpet') is a groundcover for borders, rock gardens, pollinator gardens, and xeriscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows fast and spreads 12 to 24 inches with fragrant evergreen leaves. Flowers open from early to late summer and draw butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Blanket flower, Lavender, and Stonecrop.
