Notes
'Mandarin' honeysuckle (Lonicera 'Mandarin') is a vine for privacy screens, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The flowers come in deep yellow, orange, peach, and pink, and hummingbirds and butterflies visit them. Let it run over a fence or arbor, or train it up a trellis. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Phantom panicle hydrangea, Indian Summer rudbeckia, and Little bluestem.
