Notes

Common honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum) is a climbing vine for cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, privacy screens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant crimson purple flowers with yellow and white insides open in early to late spring. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with The President clematis, Limelight hydrangea, and Garden phlox.
