Notes

Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) is a vine for borders and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. It climbs fast and stays evergreen, and the fragrant yellow and white flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Birds visit it too.

Pairs well with Etoile Violette clematis, Mandarin honeysuckle, and Joe-pyeweed.

Native range

Native to Japan, Korea, and Manchuria and China..
