Notes

'Marillyn' magnolia (Magnolia 'Marillyn') is a tree for specimen planting, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The purple flowers open in early to late spring and are fragrant. Bees visit the blooms, and birds also come to the tree.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, First Frost hosta, and Niobe clematis.
