Notes
'Mariner' peony (Paeonia 'Mariner') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single crimson flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Saunders bred it in 1941. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Little bluestem, and Carlton daffodil.
