Notes

'Marshmallow Tart' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Marshmallow Tart') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and Charles Klehm and Son Nursery introduced it in 1985. The short plants reach 22 to 24 inches and bear white, double blooms that look like marshmallow puffballs. Strong stems and sturdy guard petals hold the flowers well.

Pairs well with Picture tulip, Western sword fern, and Stargazer lily.
