Notes

'Mary Auten' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Auten') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant double blooms open pale lavender and age to white in late spring. It is a late, sure opener with fine stems and good height. Edward Auten, Jr bred it and named it for his daughter.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Sedge, and Picture tulip.
