Notes
'Mary Reid' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Reid') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Reid bred it in 1930. The single, amaranth pink flowers open in mid to late spring and have cream-colored centers. The plant is large and erect, and the many blooms are held well above the foliage.
Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Blazing star, Royal fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
