Notes
'Maurine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Maurine') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The full double flowers are light lavender with bright red striped guard petals. Strong, upright stems reach thirty to thirty-six inches, so the blooms hold up well for cutting. D. G. Haupt bred it.
Pairs well with Lupine, Picture tulip, and Ostrich fern.
