Notes

'Mavourneen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mavourneen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double blooms are light rose pink and rather flat. It flowers fairly freely in mid to late spring, and the plant stays somewhat dwarf. W. E. Lanigan bred it.

Pairs well with Lupine, Joe Pye weed, and Christmas fern.
