Notes

'Maytime' peony (Paeonia 'Maytime') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stays short and bears fragrant, single, dark red blooms with orange undertones. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Edward Auten, Jr bred it, and it increases quickly.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Patriot hosta, Carlton daffodil, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
