Notes

'Medea' peony (Paeonia 'Medea') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The fragrant, single flowers are red to deep maroon and open in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Nassos Daphnis bred it.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Blue fescue, Lily, and Nelly Moser clematis.
