Notes

'Melissa' peony (Paeonia 'Melissa') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, fully double flowers open light yellow and fade to cream, and some blooms may go to the ground in rain. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Roger F. Anderson bred it.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Eastern columbine, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
