'Mellin Knight' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mellin Knight') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The dark red flowers are single and sit on tall, erect stems. Gardeners do not see this good red single as often as they once did.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, Sedge, and Wild bergamot.
