Notes
'Merton Reward' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Merton Reward') is a columnar tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. It is grown for fresh eating, and it ripens early in the season. Spring flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees. Plant a second cherry nearby, since this tree is not self-fertile.
Pairs well with Scentara Double Blue lilac, Ice Follies daffodil, Spiked speedwell, and Little Hottie panicle hydrangea.
